Abstract. One of the pioneers for the creation of an international document for protecting children’s rights as a special and vulnerable group is the Polish doctor and pedagogue Janusz Korczak. His rich literature works have created a significant trace in the development of pedagogy and has been studied in several subjects in the
coursework of future teachers at the Faculty of Education. In the light of 80 years
of his death we have decided to study the perceptions and attitudes of educational
specialists towards the idea for children's rights and Korczak's ideas in the field and
to outline the challenges that educational specialists face when they have to provide
protection and education of children about those rights.
