Prof. Dr. Natasa Hoic-Bozic
Dr. Darko Lončarić, Assoc. Prof.
Dr. Martina Holenko Dlab, Assist. Prof.
University of Rijeka (Croatia)

Abstract. The paper presents results of a study conducted within the Erasmus+ project GLAT which promotes the integration of activities for developing computational thinking and programming skills into daily teaching in primary school. The aim of the study is to identify to what extent are primary school junior grade teachers from Croatia prepared for developing these skills among their classroom students. The results show that there is a need for teacher training programmes on applying methods, activities and ICT tools for developing computational thinking in everyday teaching practice.

To Read or Interact with Textbooks – What is Better for Learners?

Dr. Gabriela Kiryakova, Assoc. Prof.
Trakia University – Stara Zagora (Bulgaria)

Abstract. The introduction of digital technologies into education changes the medium and tools used to achieve the learning objectives. Traditional textbooks have to be adapted to suit to the needs and characteristics of the digital generation learners. Textbooks, combined with innovative technologies, are becoming a modern way for knowledge transfer. They engage learners and bring them new sensations and opportunities to interact with the content. The current paper presents the essence and benefits of augmented textbooks in education. An augmented textbook is presented as an example of effective use of modern technologies, combined with traditional training tools.

Deep Copy in C++ and Java

Dr. Hristina Kostadinova Dr. Mariyana Raykova, Assist. Prof.
New Bulgarian University

Absract. The programme realization topic of the ways to copy cloning objects in object-oriented software projects is presented in the paper. The stress is on the subject of shallow and deep copy or the situations in which the copied objects have common resources with the original one. In many cases, programmers need to switch from one technology to another, which leads to the need of knowing the details of the implementation of a programme functionality in more than one programming languages. Different approaches for the implementation of the deep copy are demonstrated with examples in C++ and Java programming languages. Advantages and disadvantages of the presented methods are discussed.

Algebraic Description of Pascal’s Snails of Order n

Prof. Sergey Larin, DSc.
School of Mathematics, Physics and Computer Technology
Krasnoyarsk, Russia

Abstract. As a generalization of the well-known concept of Pascal’s snail for two circles a geometric notion of Pascal’s snail of order n is introduced in the paper for n circles. It is solved the problem of its algebraic description in the form of a polynomial with complex coefficients under the condition that the module of the complex variable is equal to 1. The role and importance of the information component is demonstrated by an example of animation drawings in GeoGebra environment, which have been used during the experiments. Some of the accompanying proofs turn out to be obvious in verbal sense and the realibility of the assertions is confirmed by animation drawing models.
Keywords: animated drawings; GeoGebra environment; Pascal’s snail; complex plane; transformation; polynomial
