Abstract.

Abstract. The purpose of this study is to analyse the effectiveness of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health for Children and Adolescents (ICF-CY) in the context of inclusive education by evaluating its impacts on the functional assessment and integration of students with special educational needs (SEN). A mixed methodology including quantitative and qualitative approaches such as surveys, interviews, and classroom observations was used. Key findings show that ICF-CY significantly facilitates the functional assessment process and development of individualised support plans, leading to improved academic achievement and social integration of students. Despite these positive effects, limitations related to the need for additional teacher training and provision of adequate resources were also identified.

Abstract. The Bulgarian education system has been under intense public scrutiny and been “enjoying” special attention from society since the fall of socialism in 1989. Several reforms have been implemented and continue to be made. Bulgarian education is being modernized gradually and purposefully. This is evident not only from the conditions in which the modern teacher works, but also from the new curricula that aim to equip Bulgarian students competent and ready for tomorrow. However, are these “new and innovative” ideas, or are they merely recycled and rebranded versions of past concepts? Are they being refined and expanded upon, or simply repackaged under a modern “educational facades of pseudo-innovations”? This article examines the essence of polytechnic education and traces the development of this concept to modern models of project-based learning, dual training, and STEAM education. The hypothesis is made that Bulgarian vocational education has always built upon the idea of the connection between theory and practice, and if, during the socialist system, the idea of polytechnicism linked education with production, now dual training is what provides personnel for various spheres of the economy, and in STEAM education, we rediscover the core principles of this long-standing idea.

Abstract.

Abstract. The article focuses on the tourism industry, specifically on the restaurant business and the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance the restaurant experience. The aim is to implement innovative products that fully align with the cooking technology, consumer demand, and the profile of the tourist. The new category of Wellness tourists is increasingly interested in the quality of restaurant offerings (Polimenov 2014, pp. 76-77), particularly regarding their healthiness and nutritional value. Wellness Food and Drinks technologies are directly related to the structuring and production of modern culinary products. More and more restaurants will automate their operations by using artificial intelligence (AI) for analysis and laboratory diagnostic data. Modern nutrition, facilitated by artificial intelligence (AI), will utilise biometric sensors, cameras, and quantum bioscanners to gather information about the tourist’s health status. These and other capabilities of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies will enhance the quality of restaurant products and create opportunities to significantly increase the competitiveness of the restaurant business (Gonzales 2023, pp. 1 – 37). It will be necessary to change the existing tourism policy by progressing to a higher level of offering-marketing (Buhalis 2022) and consumption of tourism products involving artificial intelligence (AI).
